Vetora – Farmer-Owned, Future-Focused

Partnering to bring practical science to New Zealand farms

Vetora is a leading, farmer-owned veterinary club with a proud legacy of supporting rural communities across Waikato and the Bay of Plenty. With over 75 years of experience and a strong reputation for practical, on-the-ground expertise, Vetora has become a trusted partner for commercial farmers seeking premium animal health services and support. Today, the organisation brings together more than 70 veterinarians and a network of nurses, technicians, and support staff across multiple clinics.

At its core, Vetora exists to reinvest in the future of farming, whether through clinical care, on-farm advice, or collaborative research that drives better outcomes for both animals and farmers.

A Strategic Research Partnership

Strengthening decision-making through data and evidence

In 2023, Vetora formalised its strategic partnership with EpiVets, embedding our epidemiology team within their Te Awamutu clinic. This collaboration enables EpiVets to work directly with Vetora vets and farmers to design and deliver research that is both scientifically robust and practically relevant.

By drawing on the real-world challenges and opportunities identified by Vetora’s veterinary teams, EpiVets is able to produce insights that translate into on-farm action, closing the loop between research and results.

Practical Benefits for Farmers

From insight to impact, on-farm and in practice

The Vetora–EpiVets partnership empowers both organisations to take a proactive approach to animal health, farm productivity, and welfare outcomes. Vetora members benefit from access to the latest knowledge, tools, and research-led advice, including:

  • Early warning systems for health and performance issues
  • Reproductive performance benchmarking and risk analysis
  • Disease surveillance and regional health trends
  • On-farm trials for emerging tools and technologies
  • Data-backed support for farm decision-making

The research also informs internal Vetora training and development, ensuring their veterinary teams remain leaders in applying the latest science in a practical, farmer-friendly way.

Aligned Values and Shared Vision

Locally grounded, nationally connected

As a farmer-owned organisation, Vetora is committed to delivering value back to its members. This includes ongoing investment in innovation and long-term improvements in animal health and farm productivity. EpiVets shares these values, delivering independent, applied research that supports decision-making at every level of farming.

Together, Vetora and EpiVets are helping ensure that New Zealand farms are not only productive today, but resilient and future-ready for the challenges of tomorrow.
